Impromptu I
My hands will have to serve
As the last bucket since the wooden
One is already filled to spilling over
Have you ever seen this bad a storm?
If you shine a light on the ceiling
You can see all the water glowing
If you shine a light through the ceiling
You can see the birds killing the sky
My fingers will have to burn
As the last barrier since the iron
One in is nothing but bullets in the floor
Impromptu II
The report said it was supposed
To rain that night, but we hadn't seen
A cloud to speak of, no drops of
Little diamonds falling through the search lights
Dripping down our barrels or
Flooding through our eyes
They'd said it was supposed to
Pour beyond a midseason monsoon
Past the stars and beyond the moon
Raining down in rivets that would run
Blinding through our goggles
But the only thing blinding me is the sun.
Impromptu III
I spilled the water from my hands as
I tried to shelter my ears from the thunder
It must be the thunder of flying gods
Tearing through the night over our
Tiny house with wood beams dripping
Can you hear them calling me?
Can you see them looking our way?
Will they answer if I scream without a
Care who in this hell will hear my prayer
I spilled night's water from my hands as
I cover my eyes and press my palms
Against our slippery wooden witness
Against the last thing I'll see, my floor
Impromptu VI
The report said we were supposed
To kill everyone we met, we were
Supposed to take the women and
Children falling like diamonds through
The rain and let them drip into pieces
As their bodies hit the wooden floor
The report said it was supposed to
Be red but all I see is rain
And eyes shocked wide on a blank
Little face that was halfway to
Asking for forgiveness before
I forgave her anyway.
And now the only thing I see is rain
Every single day...

Love hurts, yet we can't live without it. It's like oxygen, slowly killing us, but without it we'd already be dead.
cool.
Good to see you again.
